State of Mind

Beauty is not just skin deep but a state of mind.

I used to think that my ability to see the world in vibrant colors was a special gift, setting me apart from everyone else. But now, I see that it's not just about the colors themselves. It's about the way I perceive the world.

I spent hours with my friend today, painting a picture of the sunset. As I described the fiery oranges and soft pinks, I noticed how his eyes lit up with wonder. It wasn't just the colors that moved him, but the story behind them. The way the sun dipped below the horizon. The gentle breeze that carried the sweet scent of summer flowers.

I've always been drawn to the breathtaking landscapes. But today, I found beauty in the simple things. The way the sunlight filters through the leaves of a tree, creating dancing shadows on the ground. The sound of raindrops pattering on the windowpane. The warmth of a cup of tea on a chilly day.

It's like I've discovered the secret of beauty that's always been there, waiting to be seen. And it's all around us in the most ordinary of places.

Maybe the world is a little less colorful for most people, but that doesn't mean it's any less beautiful. It's in the small things we often overlook that we can find true beauty. And I'm grateful for the gift of seeing it, the opportunity to share it with others, and for the friend who helps me appreciate it even more.
