Mindful
The scent of freshly baked cookies filled the air. As the dough yielded beneath my hands, a soft melody hummed on my lips. The gentle knock at the door interrupted my peaceful reverie. You stood in the doorway, your eyes sparkling with warmth. Your smile always illuminates the room. And I bask in the glow of your adoration.
But then as the day wore on, a small cloud cast a shadow over our sunny day. Careless words and thoughtless jest almost shattered the peaceful tranquility we'd built. And it cut me to the core to see you hurt. How could I wound the one I cherished most?
You didn't lash out, though. Instead, you spoke to me with such gentleness and love. It made me realize how precious our connection is.
In the quiet aftermath, I learned a valuable lesson. Love is a delicate thing, easily bruised. It demands tenderness, understanding, and above all, respect. You've shown me the true meaning of love. I vow to be more mindful 'cause I don't wanna lose you. And I’m determined to be a better person. To listen more, to speak less, and to always choose love over pride.
